Vidtech Encoder

Running Vidtech Encoder on macOS

Vidtech Encoder's Mac build isn't notarized by Apple yet, so Gatekeeper blocks it the first time you try to open it. This is completely normal for a small, free tool like this one — here's how to get past it.

Step 1: Install it

  1. Open the .dmg file you downloaded.
  2. Drag Vidtech Encoder into the Applications folder shortcut.

Step 2: Open it the first time

  1. In Finder, go to Applications and find Vidtech Encoder.
  2. Right-click (or Control-click) the app icon and choose Open — don't just double-click it.
  3. macOS will warn that it can't verify the developer. Click Open in that dialog to confirm.

You only need to do this once. After the first launch, Vidtech Encoder opens normally like any other app.

If that doesn't work

On newer versions of macOS, right-click → Open sometimes doesn't offer an "Open" button. If that happens:

  1. Try double-clicking the app once (it'll be blocked — that's expected).
  2. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security.
  3. Scroll down to the security section — you'll see a message that Vidtech Encoder was blocked, with an "Open Anyway" button next to it. Click it.
  4. Confirm once more if asked, and the app will open.
